I was contemplating this today. People keep referencing Hitler, but a hallmark of fascism in that time was ensuring that government and infrastructure were functioning perfectly. How they ensured support at home. What enamored the elite of other countries as well.

I was primarily referencing the perceived rescue of the German economy after 1933, but wasn’t clear that it was a perception of function and efficiency rather than a reality of same. To contrast the absolute chaos and disaster our current fascists are creating.

i mean, that was the ILLUSION to be sure; the reality was much, much different it wasn't so much that the trains ran on time as people put effort into making it LOOK like they did because they'd be shot otherwise but the MAGA regime isn't even interested in LOOKING "efficient" outside of brutality
