COVID or not, I highly recommend considering masking right now especially if you are at risk. I know of 4 confirmed pneumonia cases across the country, in 3 states, 1 fatal. And a fifth suspected. And that’s just in *my circle.* But since the CDC has been gutted, who would tell us? Be careful.
my dr's office in fl has texted me 2x saying covid, flu & stomach virus are on the rise. they say avoid crowds, mask, wash hands. the dr office doesnt mask🙄 & asked me to remove mine 1.5 yr ago. have been looking for a new dr. but at least they sent a warning.
Well If the NON MASKING DOCTORS IN FLORIDA say use pandemic-era protections something is *really* wrong. May I have your permission to repost this? I know you might not want this kind of signal boosted. Is ok if not. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that kind of doctor.
This is not some casual thing. At least two of the cases were multi-day fevers that required antibiotics to break and will require nontrivial recovery. And they may have been asymptomatic beforehand so they could have been walking around near you and you’d never know. Or on a plane with you.
I have been slacking on masking due to the summer heat but I will need to double down for my convention appearance this week and mask when not onstage. I have too much going on in September to play these games. If you’re also going to SLICE let’s mask together.
