Biden's amazing legislative record of bills that actually help people equals thart of FDR. The failure was one of not educating the ignorant of all good they were doing. Compre that to the vile carnage and destruction exploding from the orange hellhole now.

Yeah some major successes. Few of which will have any lasting legacy, cos of the big failure was not taking an appropriate natsec response following a fascist coup attempt. That was his #1 job and he ducked it, overseeing an unconstitutional election and the triumph of Trumpofascism.

Sadly, there wasn't much he could have done within the confines of the Law & Constitution. Don't forget that during his first two years he had a hostile Senate, followed by a hostile Congress. And he had a hostile SCOTUS and mainstream media throughout. The corrupt SCOTUS proved the most serious.

There was a lot more. He chose to avoid the fight, hoping it would go away on its own. He appointed Garland to go easy, could've chosen an aggressive AG if that's what he wanted. SCOTUS corruption huge problem, and also part of the coup that needed dealing with, but was avoided.

How so? Garland lined up the court cases perfectly, only to have SCOTUS declare that a president cannot be prosecuted for "presidential acts", without defining what those are. Meaning they were something else for trump then for Biden. And that was the end of US democracy.

No, one tGarland dragged his feet for ~2 years. Went after footsoldiers not ringleaders, until external pressure forced him to appoint Jack Smith. Trump treated very deferentially when he should have been roughly arrested at 5am in his underwear in Feb 21 and charged with treason

What trump did on Jan 6 was no treason. Treason is aiding and abetting a foreign power, which in trump's case is very hard to prove. Also, even if arrested, no judge in the USA would have denied him bail. FFS, he has been arrested and let go four times, and the media spin made him appear a hero.

No, there is only one guilty of the renewed trump presidency, and that is the American voter.

But he*did* go after him, and at just the right time to do the most damage to trump ahead of the election. The mainstream media is hostile towards the Dems, including the NYT. They loved to spin Biden as weak and ineffective, whereas in fact he was the most effective president in a long time.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. To me, this is very very far from what I watched unfold over four years

Thing is, the USA is so saturated with ultra-right spin & propaganda that y'all can't think straight anymore. I saw the same with Brits around Brexit. Even those against Brexit still believed the lies about the EU that had been spread in the 25 years that led to it.

Obvs SCOTUS was a huge problem. So, facing a fascist insurrection problem, what do you do with a fascist insurrectionist court? Obey it and accept its legitimacy? Then you'll lose, obvs

You need an Amendment to the Constitution to solve that issue. That was not possible for Biden, so he didn't waste time on it. Fact is, the USA is rotten to its core, and things will need to get worse before they can get better. The People will need to act. Ukraine showed you how in 2014.

The general approach of asking the coup fascists for permission to stop the coup fascists was obvs gonna fail. But the alternative - appropriately severe nataex response including powerful elites and social buddies - seemed too drastic so they chickened out. Just couldn't face the severity of the mo

I don't think you understand the nature of the US legal system, where the rich & influential can delay & extend cases almost indefinitely. Also, the DOJ was sown with loads of pro-trump stooges that Garland first had to remove. Garland focused on Trump, and was defeated by SCOTUS corruption.
