~Apparently the correct way to describe scattering mum's ashes isn't "lobbing mum in the sea" 🤷

We did it with my Grandparents. Didn’t notice the swimmer in the ocean from our position on the pier. Probably should have looked down before we tipped them out
Haha, oh god!
Yup. While all this was happening we were also trying to distract my 2 year old niece, unsuccessfully, as she yelled “glitter!” when we opened the boxes and started to scatter. Still, it helped make an emotional moment a bit easier to handle
Oh bless. Yeah, anything to make it vaguely easier.
bark laughing. my partner would be cackling at this.
Is hucking the preferred term? Or yeeting?
I am going to pivot to "yeeting". 👍 (This made me laugh a LOT, thank you.)
I don’t see why it shouldn’t be, it’s accurate
Seems perfectly accurate to me! Also, hope the lobbing went ok - imagine it can be a difficult thing to go through emotionally (and practically by the sound of it).
It's not for a few weeks, but thank you. 💜
Ah, time to plan optimal lobbing in that case. My parents are interred and in a way I am glad because I didn't have to worry about where and how to scatter them, but it means they are just in a graveyard far from where we live.
You've said "plan optimal lobbing" and I've had a sudden vision of a trebuchet.
That's the vision I had too! I think I'd quite like that to be involved in my end: designing the mechanism could be a good bonding activity for those who remain when I'm gone?
