House seats are not statewide but district by district races. That's why gerrymandering skews representation. It's done by both sides but overly abused by Republicans. All I'm trying to illustrate is that gerrymandering has resulted in minority rule.
There is no such thing as "party vote" in the US and suggesting that there is (or people behave this way) is politically illiterate. eg. if there was a 'party vote' Trump would've lost in 2016 and 2024 because a huge number of people who voted for Trump split tickets.
