"The projection they're using does not match what we want people to believe, so we reject it and pretend it's not valid." Just like they've done every other time they want to blow up the deficit to give more tax cuts to billionaires. They only accept CBO analysis if it makes Dems look bad.

Dynamic scoring is a fudging technique meant to make tax cuts for the wealthy look like a good idea. It doesn't get reliable results, even the reddest states stopped using it a decade ago. www.governing.com/gov-institut...

And dynamic scoring is only going to account for REALISTIC outcomes due to law changes. MAGA wants the CBO to just assume that tax cuts to billionaires are going to "unleash the job creators" or some nonsense, that will magically cause 300% growth and pay for the same tax cuts.

Joni Ernst was relieved she didn’t have to explain to constituents the tooth fairy isn’t real, when it requires more magical thinking to believe tax cuts for the rich will reduce the deficit than if we started looking for the missing trillions under our pillows in the morning.

My kids get report cards on Friday. I’m sure they’d be interested to learn more about dynamic scoring, and how that theory would be applied to the elementary economy: You reject the current grade because you forecast future learning to improve beyond what you’ve thus demonstrated, yes?

Honestly, they don't care about the deficit. They know they will just keep deflecting and if a dem wins they will blame them for all the increases. Sad thing is it will probably work because the general public has the memory of a goldfish.

Anyone know what is dynamic scoring? I saw over the weekend that problem w CBO calculation is doesn’t allow for projected growth that will result from trickle down economics and policy and deregulation changes.

CBO should issue a statement - "Fuck you! We are nonpartisan and make the best objective assessment that we can. If we are wrong, sit down with us to show us how or why we are wrong!" PS - "You pieces of shit."

The dynamic scoring can also make it worse if there is a recession, but like you say it doesn’t matter anyway with the scorched earth policies of MAGA they only care about themselves and their rich donors.

From GOP standpoint, dynamic scoring is predicting their actions ALWAYS lead to better than expected growth, hence better than expected tax revenue. It is basically a highly flexible fudge factor that they use to improve projections from what CBO makes using standard and repeatable methods.

Part of the "Tinkle Down" effect: the economy will grow so much that tax cuts will pay for themselves. There is a real problem in this regard w/ the CBO projection on tariff revenue: It ignores the almost certain drop in economic activity that will result from the tariffs.
