Could be. Awaiting news on the venue... then I’ll be looking for possible stopovers.

They play a lot of games at Horsley & Send CC - 2 squares, decent modern club house, nice setting, and it is outside the M25 so no worries about ULEZ. I'll be back with our 4s for our last Championship game (or still with the 3s in a _Vase_ semi-final, if their batters aren't back from their hols).

Apparently playcricket is suggesting we will, indeed be at H & S CC. Never been. Anything else we should know?

The directions on playcricket look a bit odd, but they are correct - access from the 236, confirmed via Google Maps. It does look as if there should be a more direct route directly off the A3, but this appears not to be recommended.

We've not played Surrey in the 3s this year, but last year we played them 3 times. Beat them once, comfortably, then lost a reasonably close game in the group stages, then lost again in the final. Surrey are normally strong, often better batting than bowling.

Big game today - 1s "debut" as specialist fielder. Late cry-off on Monday, then match put back a day due to a dreadful forecast yesterday. Night train, then bus...no-one else could/would travel to Cornwall... They'd better bloody win, now!

Well done, mate! I am also one of ours stronger fielders... coz movement still relatively decent. Hope you prosper and enjoy.

Lost by 5 rruns, but it wasn't really thst close - we were always behind the required rate. Ran about a bit, dropped a catch when already over the boundary (dropped it before I realised I was standing 3' over the painted line). Waiting now at St Austell for the night sleeper. Home for breakfast.

Indeed. On the train now. Glad I don't have a 6 hour drive home...2 of today's team are in the 70s 1st tomorrow, so have no choice.

Spent an hour in the bar "drinking back the fixture" (and had time to kill before catching the bus back to the station). Enjoyed the day, and the trip out (atill have to get home) but boy do (some of) the 1s take the game seriously.😡🤬

Same the world over. Some of our firsts have - shall we say? - a certain pomp. But like you I suspect, I field as well as they do, & am v happy in my lower team.

My throwing was never great, but it has improved markedly over the last year or two. Only one bounce from a 60 yard boundary today, and relatively flat. Nearly surprised a runner with a flat throw on from 40 yards. I was very much _not_ the weak link in the field.

I would like to play more 3s - the 4th XI section is actually getting weaker, now Kent are so disorganised - but we enjoy our cricket.
