I remember hearing how different my 6th graders were for me vs another T & it was always negative. Like "why are they so bad for me?" But it was a hypothetical. The other T didn't really want to evaluate how he might need to change, just complain. I think that's just the mentality for some ppl.

The one time, as a specialist, where I brought up class behaviors (and I wasn't the only specialists seeing it) the teacher got extremely defensive with us. I felt we were trying to be respectful, wasn't asking them to fix all the problems, more like a "we're struggling with your class and don't+

I get that it's hard as a T to not take it kinda personal as a "failure" that you aren't solving everything all the time. I wish there was more consistent emphasis on "you aren't going to get it right 100%, you have to grow your skills & collaborate w/ others". We ask kids to do it that way 🤷🏻‍♀️

+know what to do, maybe you have some ideas." Instead of ideas, they just defended the class and themselves.🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree 100%, but it is just so frustrating to hear that over and over again. One year I had a doozy of a class, those first couple of months I absolutely dreaded picking my kids up from specials every day.

Reading all of the replies and I keep thinking: "Who has the time?" Honestly, I rarely have a moment to do more than wave at classroom teachers when I'm returning a group after class. 🤷🏾
