So because of that, the Dems are now just supposed to sit back and let the degenerates on the Right blatantly make up the rules at any time, whenever they feel they want to suit themselves. Got it.

That’s what the Democrats do when they’re in control. Both sides need to stop doing this, but let’s be honest about it. Both sides hate it when the other side does it, but when it’s their turn they do the same thing with gusto and a lot of posturing that THEY are doing the principled thing.

The problem with that line of thought is that my state wouldn’t even be considering doing this until the next census year if Texas wasn’t acting like N. Korea and throwing out the existing rule book at Trump’s request. At least WE get to vote on it. They don’t.

The original story says Dems are upset about what’s happening in Texas but they’re just fine with it happening in California. So it’s not that redistricting is a problem…REPUBLICAN redistricting is a problem.

Democrats have tried to make gerrymandering illegal. Every Republican voted against it. You can't fight fire with disapproving looks.

Democrats love to make gerrymandering illegal when Republicans try to re-gerrymander what Democrats gerrymandered last time.

That doesn't even make sense

Both parties gerrymander, and both sides are infuriated when the other side does it. It goes back and forth. Wash, rinse, repeat.

If Democrats REALLY hated gerrymandering they would be working hammer and tongs to stop it in Texas. Instead, it's "We'll gerrymander in California! That'll show 'em!" So it's not about "gerrymandering." It's about "Republican gerrymandering."

And how exactly do you expect them to stop it in Texas? Make it illegal? Tried that, Republicans blocked it.

Okay, then they lose. That's politics. Work harder next time. But don't tell me that gerrymandering is evil unless YOU do it...then it's okay. If you want it as an arrow in your quiver, great! But don't tell me it's pure evil and then use it yourself.

And I'm not happy about the current situation, either. But I lost. And that's on me. I need to work harder next time.

At this point, the entire fight is to make sure there even is a next time. The GOP has already stacked the court, and they want to stack all of Congress too. They've made their intentions of a one party country very clear. There's no time to take the high road.
