Sorry, the kumbayah moment is long past. This regime continues to violate our sovereignty on a regular basis. They disrespect our home, defile our sacred land and treat us as though we should be deported somewhere, but since we were here first, they can’t figure out what to do with us.
I see that you are indigenous and, how should I say, living within your culture, thus affected constantly by disrespect and attacks. I DO think much more should be done now to stop the wrongs as well as make reparations for the past. I understand your need to fight.
My initial thought was that the ancestors naively believed that the first Europeans would actually put into practice the faith they pretended to follow. Boy, were they wrong!
Sadly, they wouldn’t be the first people duped by religion.
