#WritingLifeMonthly Benefit 1-I wouldn't have to pay for anything Benefit 2-Someone who knows what they're doing would be in charge of marketing (Cuz I have less than 0 marketing skills on my own. Negative marketing skills. My rizz is so low, Id have to pay people to look at anything Im selling.)

100% agree with Benefit 1. It would be so nice not to worry about how "that" bill was getting paid. However, I've heard horror stories about marketing efforts from trad publishing houses. It came down to someone who didn't know the genre marketing the book to wrong audiences. #WritingLifeMonthly

Lol. Considering that if I try to market my own book, there's a 100% chance that I will woefully mishandled the whole thing, it seems worth the risk 🤣😅

Yeah... Marketing... It's a beast that I would love to slay and send its soul into the deepest depths of hell. I hate doing it... but it's a necessary evil.

FWIW I work in marketing as my day job and paying people to look at what you’re selling is a huge part of marketing. Building an audience entirely organically is nearly impossible.

Like I said, marketing knowledge is in the negative for me. 🤷‍♀️ My best guess for how to sell my book if I go indie looks a little like this-

Fr if I self pub or indie pub I’m buying some and placing them in the little free libraries across town hoping someone just stumbled across it 😅
