Tackling this level of hate takes more than individual acts of solidarity. We need political leaders to show that racism will never be accepted, to push back against hateful narratives, and to strengthen the places most at threat from the far right.

It would help if our political leaders would stop trying to appeal to racists, and consider trying to appeal more to the progressives who elected them.
