Take to the streets, you miss work. Miss work, you can lose your job. Lose your job, you lose your health insurance. Plus, we physically can’t converge on the nation’s capital on short notice the way smaller countries can, and certainly can’t sustain a presence there.
This is not me saying we shouldn’t protest - I believe we can & will. But doing so in a gigantic capitalist country is just logistically different.
Good point about health insurance. The people in countries with universal healthcare don’t have the added concern about losing their health insurance if they’re away from their job too long. 🫤
