OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are just making shit up now!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are just making shit up now!
Oh, yes. Sure. The businesses are all going to cover our insurance now! Wow. Very, very positive and *totally* believable.
And…the cost comes out of the employee’s wages. Been there, done that.
ummm. unlike your cushy job and health benefits many WORKING Americans do not receive health benefits and when they do the deductibles are astronomical. So tired of entitled people dumping on the working poor. try living like the majority of Americans.. you couldn’t you are too soft
Now? Where have you been for the last few decades?
Ummmmm …. I think they are on Medicaid for a reason.
This is the DUMBEST response yet. This is so so bad — and mighty embarrassing.
So every employer will be required by law to provide medical coverage? BS
Smh…
Yep he just makes shit up- besides MONEY!
Now?
What a joke — so Amazon, Uber, the neighborhood restaurant, etc… are going to start providing health care? I think these bozos truly think that’s what’s happening.
I don't think they believe it for a second. It's just a better sound bite than Fuck You
Agree generally, but also think a significant portion of them are so stupid and ignorant that they don’t actually know how the world works beyond their bubble.
Absolutely agree 💯
Lankford: "... It's not kicking people off Medicaid" Also Lankford: :... So yes, we've got 10 mil ppl that are not gonna be on Medicaid" Literally 2 sentences later 🤡
Because people on Medicaid famously have robust healthcare provided by long-term employment
Long term employment with an employer that offers insurance benefits.
Is this the same guy who did the bipartisan border bill?
The most important thing people should be focusing on in this bill that is hidden is that all the power going to trump, and that no government official can be charged with contempt of court and basically ruling the courts useless.
WTF? What is he even talking about? NO ONE is on Medicaid that has access to employer provided healthcare. That is the whole point of the thing. They are either unemployed or underemployed or work somewhere they don't provide health insurance. How does he propose this is magically going to happen?
I think he wants us to believe that if the bill passes it will create 10 million jobs that all have healthcare. That's my best guess
I think he knows his constituents are so out of touch they think all jobs provide health insurance. He might even believe it himself.
Exactly! And they know the people aren’t going to be able to get insurance. They know that. that’s the point.
You realise how insane it sounds to the rest of the world that you'd link health cover to employment?
Is Lankford hiring?
Unemployment claims had a quarter million new filings last week.
Now??? Honey, they have been making shit up for a looooooooong time.
Did they ever stop just making shit up? It’s kinda their brand.
Exactly, just because somebody's employee doesn't mean they're offered employee-based Healthcare
Do the employers know about this?
He thinks the economy is going to create 10 million jobs in a short period of time? The 14.6 million net jobs added during the first three years of the Biden Administration is the largest increase for any first three years of a U.S. presidential administration. That was with a growing economy. Now
we are seeing some big layoffs and companies contracting. The economy is contracting; 1st quarter growth was only 0.2% and that was before the tariffs.
Not just 10 million jobs, 10 million jobs with health insurance as a benefit.
Exactly.
What fantasy land do they live in?
Lankford is working hard to make amends from his border bill while the 🍊💩 was campaigning. He’s catching up to be in the sycophants club 🤔
Lies and more lies if employees offered medical insurance 10 million people would have insurance
Oh, and where are those 10 million jobs coming from?
Thought Lankford was one of the few honest republicans… Obviously wrong… 🥴🫣
Lankford is MAGAT thru & thru. He was literally objecting to AZ electors when MAGA stormed the US CAPITAL, reading a speech likely approved by Trump. Lankford cannot be trusted to tell thr truth.
What? 10m who are not employed you moron! The Elderly and those with disablities! This amount to Euthanasia!
He’s a ghoul
I worked retail for years. As a sales associate, I wasn't eligible for health insurance through my employers' policies. You had to be management, and on salary to receive that.
Oh, phew, so everyone employed by retirement and disability will get their health insurance through work too.
Anyone else see that F-lying pig??
Walmart does not provide healthcare for their employees! Many companies do not provide healthcare for employees!
So there's a law now that forces employers to provide health care to their employees? I missed that somewhere along the line...
That would be, in fact, kicking people off Medicaid.
Are those 10 million jobs in the room with us right now?
Yes we are just going back to the old system before Obamacare. Nothing is covered, you are tied to your job just to keep your crappy health care, more uninsured, higher rates. The Republican plan is here and it sucks!
We’ll believe this when there’s a law that employers must provide healthcare.
Lying morons !!! People on Medicaid are there because THEY DON’T HAVE EMPLOYER PAID HEALTHCARE
Healthcare..you’re kidding me. These people are making crap..if they get insurance at all it’s unaffordable. Let him switch places. See whst he thinks. Arghhh
My son- 27 yr old works for a small up and coming business. No insurance offered. Not all employers offer insurance and if smaller businesses are required to- there will be fewer small businesses, and fewer jobs.
What a crock of shit.
They have always made shit up it’s just more in your face and shameless now
Been doing it for quite some time.
I know - let's take YOUR healthcare away and see how you feel, you mooch.
Dems need to convince the general public that Universal Healthcare actually costs LESS than the current system! Once you remove the corporate profit factor, that’s the truth! The U.S. could finally join the rest of the developed world & have healthcare for ALL!
Most employers don't offer healthcare...
So Walmart is going to start offering health care to more employees? This must be the first they’re hearing about it.
Will they still need food stamp subsidies? 🤔
They will need them but won’t get them because that is being cut as well
Instead of giving air time to these ghouls, they should interview people who rely on Medicaid. Even for those who work, many jobs don't offer benefits, in fact limit hours so they don't have to offer health benefits. Then there are disabled who can't work, etc. etc.
It's tricky, too, because Lankford is one of those guys who occasionally says something reasonable. So it gives you the false impression that he may be on the level.
Are we supposed to believe this shit?
Now?
is he lying, or is he so out of touch that he actually beleives this is true? Is he really that ignorant of employers who make sure your hours are just under the threshlod that require coverage?
Also with many jobs your screwed like if you work at say Amazon. What other part time job can you get that won’t be considered a non compete. Amazon does everything from retail to medical. Amazon Retail sells everything including from other big name box stores.
How many jobs are going to keep their people below 32 hours a week so they don’t have to pay benefits. Retail big stores very rarely give out full-time positions. If they do they make it damn near impossible. Have to have open availability to all days the store is opening and operating.
That is exactly the situation the young lady who assisted me at the Walgreen's pharmacy said she is in. Lack of hours, lack of full-time status, lack of a consistent schedule to allow a 2nd job. Even if she had all of that, who is to say she could afford to use any health insurance she could get?
This was my experience at Starbucks. I was told about all the benefits, particularly health insurance at my interview. Weirdly enough, once I started working, those 40 hour weeks never materialized frequently enough to qualify.
Bait & switch tactics.
Make it make sense.
I’ll be glad when he transitions to the unemployment line.
What do you mean, “now”? 🤔
No such thing!
No one's ever accused Lankford of being intelligent....they have, on the other hand, accused him of many other things.
We are more likely to have the tooth fairy fly in a put medical insurance under our pillow than to find a job that provides it!
I make above the average income and have insurance through my employer. For me and my two children I pay $500 a month for my “part” of that employer sponsored health insurance. Tell me again how someone working at Wal-Mart will be able to afford their “part” of employer sponsored health insurance?
And that’s only part of the part you pay if you actually need to use the insurance.
Four years ago the same plan had a zero deductible but now I pay more with annual premium increases and they changed the deductible to $2500. I’ve never even hit the deductible each year it’s gone up. but I pay more out of pocket for worse coverage.
They can’t. They won’t. This is bullshit
I still believe the majority of Walmart employees are part time. The explicit reason why is they do not have to offer any insurance. Also why in the employee room, the post about insurance is to contact social services about Medicaid.
Meanwhile the Walton family gets their mansions, vacation homes, yachts etc…I wish people would boycott Wal-Mart and other retailers with that m.o.
Hearing this from so called respectable GOP senators.
It seems like they're trying to spin a narrative that's as slippery as a politician's promise.
Several million employers: Wait, what?
MOST on Medicaid are unable to work, CHILDREN and retirees, for example! They are vilifying the disabled and unemployable, punishing them for not fitting into an abelist system. Does this mean they’re going to outlaw retirement and gut children labor laws? Yes, yes they are.
ah, he just ruined the big "Surprise!" for employers.
WTF?? These people have no shame, they have no self-awareness. Why do we keep electing people like this?
If you mean “now” in the sense of geological time, yes, “now” they are.
30 percent of jobs don't provide healthcare!!!!
This ass doesn’t seem to know that most jobs do NOT provide healthcare! FCK the Fascists!
I think he is genuinely obtuse.
Intentionally. Deliberately. The sin of a bitch is as disingenuous as they come.
These people will gravitate towards low paying jobs, and it is low paying jobs that have a HUGE percentage that don't offer heath care. Also part time job don't offer heath care. Bullshit, Lankford.
They firmly believe with no factual basis that those on Medicaid are slackers and all they need is to get off their lazy asses and get a job with no realization that many jobs pay crap and don’t provide health insurance- unbelievable 😡
Liar liar pants on fire!
Stupid is as stupid does
It makes no sense to us. To the GOP, however, nonsense makes sense.
What else is there when you got nothin’?
10 million employers are going to hire Seniors and give them healthcare? 🧐 What about Congressional healthcare- do y’all pay for your government healthcare?
And children 🤷🏻♀️
I would like one of them to answer that. And I want reporters to ask every congressperson what their benefits are…😏
Well. That is some 🐂 💩
Tell that to the Kids in foster care, the grandparents in care centers, the hard working folks in rural AND urban areas who have multiple part time jobs just to make it.
I am a self employed maid for old and poor people no healthcare What the fuck happen to these people? Is there blackmail or threats or some kool-aide ? People I completely disagreed with but I HAD respect for. That is over.
OMG. Do they REALLY think this way? Do we have to relive the Reagan regime...only a million times worse?
They are so evil. Completely devoid of any humanity at this point. The devil always gas it's due and these people will have to pay the piper at some point.
Gets it's due. 🙄
On what planet would that be?
and the unemployed, even temporarily, are going to have.... ?
And Mr. Lankford, will you be introducing the bill requiring employers to offer their employee's healthcare? We the People eagerly await your response.
Lying to buy time.
They’ve been making shit up since Watergate.
Langford is the worst kind of idiot, one who spews nonsensical bulls@#$ and really believes it. Like all of his cronies, he needs to go.
There seems to be no such thing as employer paid health care any longer for the average worker. Decades ago that was true. An example is you must work 40/wk to qualify but the employer only gives you 38 hrs. A form of this has happened to me several times in recent years. It’s frustrating!
Do you think he knows employers don't have to offer coverage and if they do, they can charge the employee full cost for limited coverage and any restrictions at all are either state mandates or part of ACA which republicans want to gut?
In other words, you are kicking people off coverage because states need federal help here. Alternatively, you could implement national healthcare and take employers out of it - but we know you won't do that.
Meanwhile, who is the low-information Joe Blow going to believe? GOP telling him one thing, Democrats saying another. People in their political silos will believe the echo chamber they are hearing within. Thus the opinion needle doesn't move until it's too late and they feel the effects themselves.
Lol, my husband employer doesn't provide healthcare..
Employer provided healthcare is failing us. Ask any teacher. Ask them how high their premium is for a family of four.
My brother, they make up shit ALL THE TIME.
Now show the stat of the # of people FORCED to be on medicaid because they are FULLY employed (at places like Walmart) and still don't have or can't afford insurance. Are they going to force the employers to provide affordable insurance for these people?? (BTW, the answer to that question is no.)
Here’s the GAO report from 2020. 70 percent of Medicaid and SNAP recipients worked full time jobs. 12 million adults working full time were on Medicaid. www.gao.gov/products/gao...
The answer is HELL NO!
When I was employed at another big box store, the insurance cost was over half my paycheck.. I cant imagine if I had health issues and HAD to buy into it, instead just spent that time uninsured until Medicaid expanded.
In the past, Walmart would keep the employees' hours right below the threshold to qualify for insurance. And as you mentioned if insurance was offered it cost as much as half their paycheck.
Yup, my first job did that. You would get write-ups if you passed the required # of hours for them to offer it.
Beyond infuriating!!!
Nope. That's what happened in 2012. Only given 28 hours per week. If they do offer insurance, it really sucks.
They’ve been making it up a long long time….🤬
Who is buying that bs?!
So all employers need to provide health insurance? What are they talking about?
I'll say it again, these people are f****** fools. If you financially qualify for Medicaid, you will not be able to afford employer sponsored Healthcare. That's the real corporate welfare right there. Pay poverty wages so that people are forced to access entitlement programs to survive!
And if you do work, you pay for Medicaid. Some people need health sustaining medication in order to maintain employment. So I guess they’ll just quit working. None of these people should have their jobs. Completely incompetent. Stupid. And totally unwilling to educate themselves.
Many years ago when I had a child with a life threatening illness, I worked and I was on Medicaid. I simply didn't make enough to afford private insurance and she needed life-sustaining care. She's nearing 30 so she is fine but it saved her life back in the day.
So the new bill will of course mandate ALL employers in the USA to provide health insurance coverage? Because I’m pretty sure a vast majority of employers in this country DO NOT provide health coverage. Why? BECAUSE IT’S TOO DAMNED EXPENSIVE! You dumb motherfuckers…
Langford had a moment of having a spine a while back but he caved so totally… pathetic.
Does anyone buy this? Even the worst knows that people in Medicaid do not have employer I health insurance.
Lankford. Shit. For. Brains. The End.
BS ALERT
If you’re on Medicaid you don’t have the latter
Try being a small business and affording healthcare. They make it impossible. This is more transfer of wealth to the ultra rich.
It's bad enough new mother's don't get maternity leave, now they don't even get medical care. FUCK THESE MONSTERS STRAIGHT INTO A PREMATURE GRAVE!
What about the employed Americans without healthcare?
They went from pulling yourself up by your bootstraps to Meemaw needs to pull herself with own walker and get to work. Right after she finds a job with full medical.
If 10M people, 1/3 of who are children and another group are elderly, disabled …what the hell is he talking about?
repuglian lips moving...lies being told
Lying mother fker. You made it so that doesn't happen often. Why? Because they don't have to give you 40hr week to qualify for Medical insurance. From employer! Fuck off lankfird
MAGA may be that dumb, we’re not.
So are they going to force employers to provide health insurance because a lot of them don’t.
Does the Senator know many companies don’t provide healthcare.
Somebody tell this idiot that most employers no longer provide health care
Oh, are local mom and pop businesses being forced to provide healthcare now to all employees?
some folks cant work , sen lankford is a evil motherfker while he gets free medical, free meds, a tax payer salary- in which they raise themselves whenever, a pension for one term- us 20 years to get that, and more while these barbaric evil republicans play take away from the poor to feed the rich.
They’ve always lied to the American people. From Trump on down, the vast majority of GOP members of Congress, and Trump and team, all lie to get what they want for themselves, their friends, & donors, all of them wealthy, while gleefully harming the lives of the middle class & lower income families.
You wondered why Lankford did not jump up, and down and scream, when Trump tanked his immigration bill. Because at the end of the day, they’re all cowards. They’ll toe the line and lie. Democracy won’t stand, if the pillars have to lie to justify its actions.
And the rural hospitals that will close in red states will be replaced by “big, beautiful hospitals” built by the private sector.
Right . . . and they’ll each have a big beautiful pool with a water slide & mini-golf course . . .🤦♀️
My kid went to college briefly in a rural area. I wouldn’t wish that health care on anyone. And I have had arguments with people on both sides of the aisle who think the problems with rural health care are a myth. As a society, we are truly terrible humans at times—more so lately.
They tie everything to work so CEOs can pay you less and work you harder. What a ridiculous system the US has.
Well, if they can actually make this MANDATORY for ALL employers, including Trump and his biljonair budz, than that IS a good thing, perhaps? Could it be that's in that bill somewhere that the Congress didn't read properly too? Then Trump would rapidly "transition" from demon to Hero of the people!
Deliberately deceptive and manipulative.
And if that Medicaid person doesn’t have an employer because they’re bedridden from a stroke, of in a wheelchair due to diabetes and have lost a leg, they have no employer…
Liar.
He’s confusing myths. The truth is Corporate America wants health insurance access tied to working for them.
That’s disgusting. As if every job (if you can find one) comes with insurance. Best be talking to Walmart about that. And I bet the “press” doing the interview gave zero pushback.
Dumb idiot
Im not sure what planet Lankford lives on, but there's no secret stash of 10 million policies of employer-based insurance just waiting to get snatched up by whomever gets dumped off Medicaid. There'll just be that many poor so-and-so's living without that all important net.
"now"
OMG !!!!! Do they not understand that Medicaid is for people who are poor, even if they work as much as everyone else?
So many lies by these vile people.
We don’t have healthcare in this country. We have health insurance, there’s a big difference.
nonsense
Ouch. 10 million people, many will through no voting fault of their own be fucked over by the buffoons who voted for the biggest bilious Buffon of them all who will soon be experiencing the mother of all buyers remorse!
Lying dickhead
Trying to kill the remaining small businesses that tariffs won't?
I can’t stand how they do this kind of outright lying!
How about those who do not have employer provided healthcare as an offering/option?
"... it's transitioning ... to employer-provided healthcare..." So, we are also going to give these people jobs that include healthcare? That seems complicated.
Or require employers to provide it? Even give them incentives to do so?
Isn't transitioning a banned word for them?
💥 🤣 you win!
It seems like bull puckey.
Does Walmart have to provide healthcare to all employees now? Is that part of the bill? Big if true (not true, because greed)
Employers are walking away from health insurance. If it’s provided it’s expensive and don’t forget, the government wants to eliminate the ACA.
Where will they work, like WalMart--where the employees are on Medicaid because they are paid so poorly? The jobs don't pay and many don't offer health insurance and many of the people on Medicaid can't work--are nursing home residents going to work? This bill MUST die.
What part of you have to be employed to get employer sponsored healthcare doesn't he fucking understand? So hat the GOP.
Special needs people and disabled need medicaid. They cannot be on employer based medicaid.
Humm, are they going to require all employers offer health insurance, then?
Does this asshole not know most of the working poor are not provided health insurance by their employer because they work too few hours to qualify for any employer given subsidy to the policy (as if they could actually afford to buy into the policy given to full time workers)?
Small business do not provide healthcare & limiting hours to less than full time is their way of avoiding insurance for healthcare
Hahahaha. How many cashiers in a mom and pop store get employer health insurance? You have to close your eyes and plug your ears to believe that.
have you mentioned that to their employers?
...and lots of maga will believe him.
What and IDIOT
Where are all of these jobs that offer healthcare? I would like one SINCE YOU ELIMINATED MY LAST JOB!
LOL. sure they’re going to be on employer Provided Healthcare what a load of shit. Just like they were before.
What a fuckwit
HINT: they will not be on employer-provided healthcare.
Lie that's a lie
Magical thinking AKA lying your ass off.
And the jobs will magically fucking appear along with the sudden recovery of people's health and ability to function.
Kick Lankford out of the Senate so he can start working for money and not only lick Trump's ass!
Has anyone informed the employers about this?
unless they have no job because they’re disabled, which is why they need Medicaid
Or, they’re in a nursing home because they are sick and unable to care for themselves.
What an idiot.
My kid works 2 jobs and neither will give her enough hours for health insurance.
Bingo
Or none at all
And the hospitals will loose a lot of revenue which means hospital workers loose their jobs. Spending projects are on hold too which impact an entire healthcare industry. People will still get sick and need healthcare so who pays? Cascade effect with the tariffs and boom 💥 economic free fall.
If they had the opportunity to get employee sponsored healthcare don’t you think they’d already have it?
So those 89 yr-old poor bed-bound seniors in nursing homes, with room and board paid by medicaid, are going to miraculously Grandpa Joe their way into a job with insurance now?
Yeah, every job comes with affordable healthcare as a benefit. /s
"It's not kicking people off Medicaid, it's just forcing people who are unable to work into working for their right to live."
Because employers always place employees over profits? If you have to work to receive healthcare, the employer will make you pay for it and likely mark it up, too. And you cannot afford the cost… and you are enslaved. Make sense now?
Now????
Major insurers are leaving the employer group market because it’s so unprofitable. Wild to claim that market is remotely prepared to absorb this many people (never mind the fact that the vast majority of them are already working!)
That's peachy if they are employed but what about the ones who aren't?
And what about us old folks?
Now? How about starting 45 years ago?
What f__kin' planet does this moron live on?
Hint: all employers don’t provide health care coverage.
I’m sure employers are more than willing to increase their expenses. This will just increase the number of people without healthcare.
Oh Senator…you’re telling lies like the best of them😏
bsky.app/profile/plan...
These cuts don’t happen until after the midterms. If they were so good why not put them in place now.
"The long fuse" as I heard it referred to. Then after they are tossed out, they can run against the very policies they enacted
I am so old, I remember when Republicans and the Federalist Society were creating test cases to get the Supreme Court to strike down the employer mandate.
Prove that employers are going to provide insurance. Where is it written?
If they're on Medicaid, chances are they aren't employed, especially children under age 18🤬
So senator, now you advocate for mandatory employer coverage? ?? Sounds like bug government, you dick
