And then the hotels will sit empty . There are 4 purpose built hotels in my city , they only have windows on one side. No one will ever pay to stay in them , they will become eyesores.

Those protesting have forgotten, or don't have a clue that it was the Tories who signed those contracts. They're valid for several years. Some are making billions.
