Salted sweets are a crime against humanity.
Salted Carmel is frequently used on ice cream, tho. It's even got its own flavor
Salted caramel is a crime against humanity.
On behalf of humanity, strongly disagree.
I mean, it's weird to me as well, but it kind of grew on me. Same goes for cucumber flavoured tonic water though. It tastes weird to me, but I like it for some inexplicable reason. XD
Humanity deserved it.
If by "crime against humanity" you mean "because it's so delicious but we're not able to survive eating only that" then I agree
I find sweet or fruity stuff on things like pizza or meat much worse. And while pineapple is just not my thing in general, I want to know whose idea it was to put peaches on chicken and cover both with cheese. While I like all three of the above, fruits just don't fit in for me like this. ^^;
If you don't use salt in your chocolate chip cookie recipe, you're doing life wrong.
The moment we can taste the salt, it's too much ( most sweets that have salted as a selling point just taste like a brick of salt to us, it's not very pleasant )
salty and sweet always goes well together. I learned that from people who worked as confectioner and they always add a little salt in their cake dough, because it compliments the sugar and makes it taste sweeter.
OH MY GOD, SHE FINALLY REALIZES IT!!!!😜
Awesome weirdoa, wake up, new reaction just dropped,
Oooo! I wanna give it a try!
Carmel (a common ice cream topping) does have salt in it, so she's not entirely wrong.
Not to mention that salted caramel chocolate has been a trend for a while now.
And it's so good
As a bumper sticker I saw almost 20 years ago wisely said: everyone is someone else's weirdo.
My wife makes chocolate chip cookies topped with sea salt. Delicious!
As someone who loves salted caramel. She knows the way. 🙏🏾 I'm sure other salted sweets are good too if they're sweet enough to balance. (I for one oversalted my salted caramel hot chocolate yesterday. Balance is important. . . .)
People often think salt is only for, well, salting things, but it enhances the flavor of anything in small amounts. I haven't done this but i definitely can see it working
And they love her for it.
Honestly? No, that makes you different and differences can be fun
Apparently from brief research it's best with chocolate or caramel ice cream? Also used in making ice cream. Salt is mixed in with the ice water surrounding the ice cream, lowering the freezing point below that of the ice cream and letting it freeze more evenly and faster.
It's muh sprinkles! Very tasty.
Olivia, there's a character in zoids who puts salt on/in everything, you're fine
I once had salted chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and it was life changing.
Reminds me of some people like olive oil or soy sauce with their ice cream. I'm not one to refuse a flavor enhancer.
Sea salt ice cream will always be the way. Makes sweet things so much more balanced since I find most things too sweet.
Hell yeah be weird about it
I found this brand that makes "Salted cream and cookies" ice cream and it might be the best thing I've ever tasted.
honestly a little dash of salt in my yogurt parfaits is a must and I'm not afraid to say it
I just tried this with trader Joe's chocolates ice cream and it's amazing.
I might just gotta try it, but Idunno if I'll like it, but you do you!!
Salted ice cream good
358/2 Days is probably why I started salting ice cream. It might have also given me a deep fear of being forgotten by the people I love but I try to ignore that.
It's left a lingering question to ask sometimes. "Who *will* I eat ice cream with?"
Tell him about Salted Caramel Ice-cream so he won't feel so weird.
Gonna try this next time I have ice cream.
He hasn't heard of dipping fries in ice cream ^^
In my family we put salt on melon (like cantaloupe), but I've never thought about salt on ice cream. I'm going to try it. For science.
My Sister in Law's family salts their fried dough. Honestly it's not half bad.
It's common to eat it with this kind of ham(not sure what it's called in English, the litteral traduction would be raw ham or parma ham) that is very salty and it's sooo good 😋
Oh I'm talking about melon btw, not ice cream x) (thiugh I'm curious too)
Salted cantaloupe is a top tier melon experience.
It was okay. Not especially better or worse, but different. It might be better on a different flavor of ice cream? I had plain vanilla.
Well now I gotta try it! I do dig toffee and salted caramel in ice cream so it's not that weird an idea
I think I am the weird one in my friend groups a lot of the time.
I KNOW I am :D
You are😉
i would love just the last one of the four boxes to sent to people xD good its the one with the @ so i can myself ig
Same goes for microwaves
Hmph, I agree!
We eat watermelons with salt, powered chilli and lemon juice here.
I only just noticed a big grammar mistake in the first sentence of the transcript when doing my Reddit upload. This is after I had uploaded onto every other site so it's too late to change it now.
It's OK. We are all make mistakes.
There's nothing wrong with that, I won't judge, aloud. But I can't talk, I dip fries into milkshakes. It's not the same thing, it's different.
It's DIFFERENT!
Indians have salted kulfi (& salty lassi for that matter). “Weird” Italian gelato includes olive oil & sea salt. My sister salts her watermelon 🍉
