Trump blaming the victim, as usual. How about “President Putin of Russia can end the war with Ukraine almost immediately if he wants to”? Unlike Trump, some of us do remember how the war started - with Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea & his acts of aggression in the Donbas.
Trump is not bothered about the Ukrainians living in the Donbas. How else could he suggest that Ukraine abandon the eastern oblasts? Ukrainians‘ lives are inextricably interwoven with these regions and they cannot simply be resettled!

There is no point in looking at it purely in our terms. In his terms a lion tried to eat a gazelle and the gazelle refuses to be a pliant gazelle, therefore is the issue. There is no morality, or “victim” and “aggressor”. The Q is: when we see the world and ethics this differently what do we do?

As I said Putin is cashing in. During the meeting Putin showed Trump all the compromising stuff he has on him and now Trump must do as he’s told. As simple as that.

Its good to see that the UN Charter is being adhered to so closely. In addition to the other members of the UNSC, the entire membership of UN should be reminding Russia of its commitments to which it signed up. It's well beyond time that the world as a whole, stood up to Russia.

the effect this blatant violation of international law (by a permanent member of the UN security council no less) will have on the idea of an "international legal order". Now it is about Ukraine, the victim, having to swap some of their (unoccupied) land for ... well, nothing really.

Zeleskyy could safely agree not to join NATO. NATO has become dysfunctional and should be replaced by a European Alliance. They should use the opportunity to part ways with other the other tyrants that only work toward undermining the organisation also.
