Eh from a religious studies perspective I’m not sure it’s that difficult to say they are christian. Christianity as a category does and should include Quechua-fused beliefs alongside copts alongside a host of syncretic beliefs, there’s no definition past personal identification I’d argue

I tend to agree with you, I'm more just saying that the question of "Are Mormons Christians?" is something that's been argued about a lot in the last fifty or sixty years. One of the most famous sayings about the mormon church is it "yearns for the accolades of the protestant pulpit."

Yeah, I’d agree with that and wanting the approval of mainstream WASPs. That said, many of those protestants of the past 50/60 years wouldnt include Catholics as Christian necessarily so i dont exactly want to base the debate with them as the arbiter of anything…
