Canada will not accept us just because we are US citizens. Unless and until they add us to their list of refugees, we must meet certain requirements to move there. Most retired people don’t meet those requirements.

I don't like it either and explored other choices for now I'm not going to be driven out of the country that I love (that I became an American citizen for) that being said he is not going to live forever but if that does not bring back democracy... I'm spending the little time I have left elsewhere.

I looked online at what it takes to emigrate to another country and found that most want young, healthy, and wealthy immigrants. I am none of the above. Scotland allows visitors to stay six months, I think.

My only child has a chance to move to the other side of the world. It's painful, but I support and even encourage the decision. Get out early.... especially if you're a member of a targeted group. I'll stay and resist...for the both of us.

Oh, I'd be doing that if I could. But as a disabled artist living on SSI, I have to 'save' for a day trip out to LI or up to Westchester/Dutchess Cty, and I certainly don't have the money to move even across town. So for many of us at highest risk, we're also those who are most trapped.

Why have a country if you’re not willing to stand up and fight for it (figuratively speaking, I hope)? That’s one thing I admire about Jane Fonda hitting the bricks to get out and engage with Trump county voters last fall. She saw what this eventuality would mean, and she fought to prevent it.

I'm not far from Boyle, do my shopping there often and go to the farmers market when I can. There are some lovely properties around overlooking Lough Key and Lough Gara. If you prefer a city I'd head to Galway before Dublin, it just more vibrant and neighbourly.
