lol the undergrad I trained didn’t write the date in the notebook for collecting info, labeled all vials as male so idk which are male or female, and didn’t clean up the area when he was done like come the fuck on

genuinely trying to figure out if/how to say “I know he’s here as part of a program for students who are work-study eligible, but having him ‘help’ me is actually adding more work for me and I don’t want him near my flies” to my advisor 🙃🙃🙃

I think it would be fine to just tell your advisor, privately. I don’t know them, but based on my experience 1. They probably have no idea and 2. They could find something else for him to do.
