Many do have a pension and many do get benefits. They also purchase food. Life for them would become even more impossible.
They were told that Brexit would increase food prices. They didn’t understand that either. The connection here is even more complex & nuanced. They won’t understand the impact it will have on them until it’s too late. Sorry to be a downer but my faith in human nature & basic intelligence is failing.
I don't subscribe to the don't worry school of thought, but I think this is desperate weak stuff from Farage and it will be exposed as such. Giving tax payers money to the Taliban - wildly popular.
A lot of it is hyperbole for sure, but that leaves a lot of headroom for genuinely awful stuff still to be done if he persuades enough people to get him into a position of power - something I once thought was total fantasy and now am not so sure about.
“Don’t worry - they won’t let it happen” has been proven time and again to be hopelessly optimistic.
