😬 Students pay more (& better) attention when the prof is a little weird, so tbh I think many of us lean into it a bit? (Though this happens a lot more w/many yrs of post-tenure teaching & ofc that’s becoming rare! So yet another reason people in faculty jobs are less weird…)
I think we do lean into it, and when we can learn to not feel self-conscious about them thinking we are eccentric, it actually enhances the bond and the communication. It's good for them to be able to laugh at us.
