The worst mass shooting in the history of the US on October 1st, 2017 in Las Vegas resulted with Congress banning "bump stocks". This year Tump signed an executive order reversing Congress's ban and also allowing FRTs -- forced reset triggers --turning semi-automatic rifles into automatic rifles
and SCOTUS gleefully said that bump stocks are not technically "machine guns." Thomas went to great technical length to "study" the triggers- totally ignoring the EFFECTS of such a weapon.

Forgive me, but given all of the mass shootings and deaths of children over the years, if we as a country were actually going to do something it would have happened long ago. The US is obsessed with guns, and these tragedies are the consequences of our past decisions. And I hate this.

I previously served a congregation in the Twin Cities, and there our firstborn attended a religious school and regularly went to chapel for worship services, just like these children did this morning. I am so weary of this endless violence.
I also learned today that this is the other church where the organist for my previous Episcopal congregation plays. He’s often there for the morning service but wasn’t scheduled for today. He will play at the 5PM Mass this Saturday, if they have it, which is held in the church where this happened.
