I don’t think the majority of people looking for change want to burn it all down. For me personally it’s obvious that what the democrats have been doing isn’t working so we need to regroup and find solutions that will work

Don’t always think it is an age thing. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse, Senator Markey are all effective leaders. Progressive voices to change the status quo. Schiff, Shumer, Clyburn, Durbin, and so many more are just business as usual

We need fresh ideas. Many, not all, of establishment Dems tend to be elitists, accept big money, are out of touch w/ the working class, & have become part of the problem. They try to stifle those within the party who are actually connecting with The People, instead of embracing them.
I pointed this ideological failure out to some random Dems earlier and was verbally abused They don’t want to let go of their chains. They love being pets of oligarchs. They love capitalism and imperialism.
I might actually call myself a Democrat again if we could rid the party of the money-loving neoliberals who benefit themselves rather than their constituents.

As an older voter, I agree. The system is broken. Of course, I'm way over in "let's switch to a parliamentary system" territory, so there is that. The guys who wrote the Constitution were intentionally vague - only clear on the no kings part of it. The rest should move with the times.

We generally choose candidates by voting, or at least voting for the people that choose the candidates. For me, any day I can vote for the candidate that believes women have the right to bodily autonomy, it’s a good day. Any day that the Christian Taliban wins an election in the US is a bad day.

Same. I've never missed an election. I never realized how few young people actually vote until I taught adult ed HS students. I went on several protest marches with them. They loved to protest. But they saw no point in voting. No candidate could be perfect enough to motivate them to register. 🤷🏻♀️

I'm ready for effective leaders of any age. I used to teach adult HS students who returned to school to graduate. They hated the gov't & blamed it for everything. Not unreasonable. They loved to march & protest. But there was nothing I could say or do to convince them to register to vote. 🤷🏻♀️

They didn’t follow the news at all. For them, life in the inner city was bad, and government was to blame, and nothing would ever change. It’s as simple as that.

I’ve never met anyone as “conservative” as some young men are today (& some women, too). That is, if “conservative” is now defined as Christian white racist misogynists who hate the LGBTQ community. I don’t equate youth with being forward-thinking anymore. I just take individuals as they are.
