I do not think anyone from NY or CA would want to teach in OK. I’ve worked there. Terrible school systems and horrible pay. There are great decent educators but not enough.
When we lived there decades ago, my five year-old was reading 3-4 letter words. They wouldn’t let her start kindergarten because she could only name 8/10 zoo animals. Pretty soon they won’t let them start if they can’t recite all 10 Condiments

They are going to be really short on teachers. My guess is they're going to have to recruit sunday school teachers to teach important things that they have no idea about. Anyone with young children should be critically thinking of how to get out of that state ASAP.
