There have been several English Civil Wars. Stephen & Matilda, The Wars Of The Roses, and three wars in the dispute between the Stuarts and Parliament. You may wish to rethink...
I once did a talk at a tax conference where I tricked everyone into revealing their incomes to each other (via a misleading show of hands). Hugely uncomfortable way to make a point.
You'd have to get in quickly to look up your enemies tax returns before the war broke out.
This is the second thing I’d enact as Supreme Leader of the UK, after making school kids study languages all the way through and bloody well enjoy them.
Oh no, earned income is very basic and easy to guess, the real revolution is when Land Registry becomes publicly indexable and everyone's Google result has their property wealth next to their name.
And, for the large proportion of the workforce in the public sector, income is a matter of public record.
Go on then, how much do I earn
Er you told me over some wine a few months ago.
Your honour I withdraw my question
"The Crown" against what, a full percent of the UK...?
Sadly I’ve seen the land registry data quality and this is very much a pipe dream unless you’re hoping for a comeuppance for PROPCO STATION ST 12
Sounds great we should start a petition. Together the great British public would discover so much VAT fraud in our tradesmen.
Oh come now, we all get a chance to gawp at The Sundae Times Rich List
Same here. Basically everyone’s address is on a publicly accessible website too. People off the telly and everything. Small counties are SO different.
Companies House kind of does that I suppose, and somehow the papers know enough about celeb home addresses to report on their planning applications
A few years ago the government published the home addresses of everyone on the new year honours list by mistake, including Elton John. Incredible scenes.
Oh yeah, I don’t think these things are impossible to get hold of elsewhere, it’s just that they’re all on one website here - companies, sole traders, whoever.
(And the address thing is like the UK used to be - it’s hard to imagine the phone book existing today, which is revealing of quite a specific societal change I think,)
This is exactly what we need in the UK
