I think you are talking about subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). This is a progressive brain disorder for which there is no cure that can develop after having measles. There is the risk of several types of encephalopathy during and after measles infection that can be treated.

Yes, that’s the one I meant. It may not be as rare as they once believed, and there is no cure. The kid starts having seizures, they forget things, and it gets worse until they die. A father wrote about losing his immunocompromised son to SSPE; measles caught from somebody else’s unvaccinated kid.

And, with the Medicaid and SNAP cuts in Trump’s bill, untreated and hungry children are going to be the norm rather than the exception. We are watching the killing of mass numbers of US citizens at the hands of our government and few seem to notice.
