Is there any evidence that prestige media covering for the regime has been at all effective? The poll numbers continue to go down across every issue. I guess we can't see the alternate universe where they aren't boosting Trump, but it doesn't *look* like it's working.
This is completely evidence-free conjecture but i think legacy media's biggest effects are not on voters (only libs read the NYT and WP anyway) but rather on the staffer/consultant/donor class who aren't acting like anything is an emergency
like i think that if the NYT and Politico were covering Trump honestly then Schumer and Jeffries might be acting differently than they are now

Exactly. I think that NYT is basically by (mostly dem) elites for (mostly dem) elites but that the actions of many of those elites does actually matter
I also have literally no idea what sort of media or media coverage reaches or sways low-information voters, given that I (like you) am probably in the like 98th percentile for political/current events knowledge lol
I mean it's very possible that a small chunk of Trump's declining polls are from Rogan moderating.
