What I’m not ok with, is political hacks. People who abandon politically inconvenient positions and then later repudiate them. People who prevaricate about their beliefs in order to keep votes. And the reason I’m not ok with it, is not morality or purity. It’s because voters despise inauthenticity
Time and again we elect leaders who we -know- are pretending to believe something they don’t in order to shore up political support. And that kind of politics works well on the small stage, sure. But in the big leagues it has failed, time and time again. Voters smell it, and are disgusted by it
