It's promised as the standard anti-government, all-American answer: Capitalism will do everything and the result will be perfection. But there's only one reason to throw away the rule-book, during privatization: The results are worthless. Really, it's so businesses receive corporate welfare.
This is the gutting of public education. Sadly, none of the graduates of these charade schools will ever get into an actual university, and without even a HS diploma, will be condemned to a life of crime, homelessness, or drug addiction. How proud all the MAGAs parents who voted for this must be.

this is so problematic I remember being on a long term software conversion project in Phoenix in 2004, the AZ team all had kids at charters (some seemed religiously problematic) & private schools. Every one of them said the public schools sucked. Fast forward to this boondoggle.
It's doing what it's supposed to which is not educating your kids. Can't have thinking people running around, those are hard to control. Why do you think Trump loves the uneducated? easiest to control, and if you can convince them to believe in imaginary beings even better... IMHO
