This is a major failure in RAG applications pin to Grok or OpenAI. Companies expect it to deliver valuable insights into data but it consistently spits out false information. I have not been able to get a consistent analysis with the same data. AI just doesn’t have the analytic skills of a human.

Every time I see this story posted, I ask myself why "munch" was used as the verb here. Was this necessary in the prompt to keep the responsible AI from kicking in and saying, "no, canceling contracts on the basis of a language model is idiotic, besides being unethical, so no I will not help."
The destruction was the point. DOGE hired inexperienced young people overestimating their own abilities on purpose. Any competent AI engineer knows that using a LLM for such a task is nonsense. "Lavingia has nearly 15 years of experience as a software engineer [..] but no formal training in AI."

Maybe the first step is that we should stop anthropomorphizing machines with terms like, "hallucinate." It is a number-cruncher designed to do nothing more than make predictions and it repeatedly gets them wrong.

That starts to explain why they proposed such deep cuts in the budget for the VA. It doesn't explain why the head of the VA Doug Collins went along with it without verifying that all those contract amounts were legitimate. No friend of veterans just another Trump sycophant.
