In Alien Earth, a guy is typing "crew dead" on a computer and the words are reflected on his face, but they aren't reversed like they should be. For readabilty I guess. They should've used a palindrome instead, so we can still read it backwards. "Ya won, evil aliens. Is neil alive? no way"

It's a staple of early Ridley Scott Sci Fi. That displays project its text and graphics on the reader. I always took it as a rule of cool thing. It's basically non diegetic lighting. As there's usually no need to build projectors into things at that level... But... ... It does look cool.

Almost every time I see a selfie of someone wearing a t-shirt the image is reversed and the makers of Alien Earth think audiences would have a problem with that!?

Reminds me of the scene in "Jurassic Park" when the velociraptor had the screen of genetic code projected onto it. It was cool and I get what they were saying, but where was that projection coming from and why was it even being projected?

Also they talk to this computer but then use an old clunky tactile keyboard and old school monochrome monitor. In some scenes they do both. In one scene Zoya verbally says one thing out load but types something else into the terminal even though she began the interaction using voice commands.
