Yes, assuming there are more election cycles. I know my partner ( also on the political left) thinks I am paranoid. But I am deeply concerned about their being continuing elections at least at the national level.

I don’t think you are paranoid at all given what we have seen so far. I think not enough Americans are as alarmed as they should be. Those who don’t vote or pay attention because they think it doesn’t matter will be in for a really rude awakening if they don’t wake up.

It can be hard to have differing opinions about the future of our country within a single family. My daughter and I are on the same page, she in the classroom, me in public. My partner will sometimes protest publicly with me...but not as often as I would like. I guess we all do what we can & hope

I know. I am used to playing Cassandra. I was afraid HRC would not win. He told me I was too anxious. No, not too anxious, I was right. My son in law, who self identifies as a moderate, says he is sure we will come out ok. I think he and I may define "ok" very differently. Authoritarianism - not ok
