But — why would that not be Neutral Good? Always had trouble with that one
From what I understand: Lawful is beholden to laws strictly Neutral doesn’t feel compelled to stick to them or to break them Chaotic doesn’t care about laws, only results And I’m judging is same man I just saw signing the underside of hotel desks with this criteria 😂
Correct on lawful and neutral, but my understanding of chaotic is that it's explicitly anti-law
“Chaotic Good creatures do what they believe to be right with little regard for the opinions of others. They are guided by their own sense of good and evil rather than the prevailing opinions of society, and they do not feel bound by rules, laws, or other creatures’ expectations of behavior.”
So, in real world terms. Lawful = Actions dictated solely by ethics (social construct of right and wrong) Chaotic = Actions dictated solely by morals (personal views of right and wrong) Neutral = Actions dictated by pragmatic rationale (whatever presents the most favorable course)
Summary of e5 for character count: •value freedom, flexibility, freedom of choice, individualism, and adaptability. •At best, means ready to accept change, & explore new ideas. •At worst, it means being disorganized, unreliable, irresponsible, and sometimes even destructive.
If your actions are anti-law, then you are still bound by the law, just in it's opposition. And if you're bound by the law, you're lawful. Chaotic means you don't care what the law says, and won't let it control you.
