We checked into Canada early on after Trump was re-elected. They didn’t want people retired (my wife), or nearing retirement (4 more years if I make it), saying we wouldn’t contribute anything and be a drain in their health care system. 🤷🏻♂️

You'd contribute as a consumer. Pay some taxes. But yea. I understand. Another group I know. Some relatives have regular places they go to in Mexico. Ive never been inside Mexico but my kids used to vacation there. It's always made me nervous. I used to go to Juarez from NMSU to party a longtime ago

Im not saying I would go. I think Ive said, if tenure is important. my family's been here since 1598. Why should I give it up to these greedies? I get it! My family came here in 1644, French Huguenots basically fleeing Catholics at the time. Settled in New Jersey, then gradually moved west. We were farmers and cabinet makers. I discovered long lost relations in Mayhill after moving here.

My ancestor came with Onate. Onate screwed up. He had to go back to Spain to be tried. My ancestors stayed.Their names were Romero and Robledo, from Toledo, Spain. 14 generations. Long time. 1598.

I live now in the same community where my granny was born in 1886. Oh and we have chickens. I love the eggs but can't bear to eat the chickens. Not so wild after all.

We had chickens growing up. Kinda weird, but being around chickens and cows gives a feeling of comfort. My brother lived and worked here, but passed two years back from pancreatic cancer. He had a cattle ranch in Texarkana area. His son runs it now.

Im proudest of an ancestor named Cristobal Laranaga. He was instrumental in eradicating smallpox here in NM. Dad did say tho. Be careful about this family history. "You could find some horse thieves." Ive found a couple of scoundrels. This really was the WildWest. It still is. I keep firearms handy

That’s really cool! Yeah, I grew up in Illinois farm country. Most had at least a shot gun and rifle. Even if they didn’t hunt. I still do. My wife’s hates guns, but recently asked if I’d teach her to use a Henry .22 rifle I have. It made me a little sad on one level.

Im fascinated with genealogy. since I was a kid. My dad showed us our name carved into rocks of El Morro. Oh and Im native too. My grandkids mom is full blood indigenous. They say they will not leave. They were here first. I'm part Apache. Point is. We need everyone's gifts to save us all. Big tent.

Wouldn't it be ironic if trump had some rare illness and the cure was in the mind of a MEXICAN doctor or something. This color thing is just a way to separate. Im light skinned too but my grandkids stick out in a crowd. They were easily targeted in an area of AZ we lived in for just a year. Scary.

Now that you mention, nond of them mentioned Canada. My son is a nurse practitioner. I think he said it could be a consideration for him. Everyone needs medical pros. Anyways, no they're not a consideration for my friends. Some of them were teachers who had already done some trekking & know 'stuff'
