I was always grateful that I was born here, grateful for blessings I never earned. I felt the privilege and it instilled in me a compassion for others who didn’t have it. It made me want to fight for their right to have it too.

Not implying that bad luck was the privilege of living in the US. It simply isn't where my heart feels "home". I've traveled around the world. My soul resonates in other places. That's not abt freedoms, politics, life in general...just my soul. Empathy & compassion don't come from a country.
