I feel like Newsom allies have gotten hypothetical votes to be a continuous issue, when my response would be "why would I even entertain a hypothetical on this? Newsome has no prayer of winning a Democratic primary." Shift it back to all the idiot things he's done to make him unelectable.
If the best argument you can make for your candidate is "they're not as evil as Donald Trump", then your candidate probably sucks
Yes, which my point is "why are we bothering to entertain hypotheticals about him even getting to the nomination?" He's not going to get the nomination, because he sucks, so we don't need to get into the argument about specific people in the lesser of two evils arguments. It gives him attention.
The argument of "does a vote mean an endorsement of a candidate, or is using your vote for harm reduction valid?" is one that's worthy of discussion time. Bringing Newsom into that discussion is laughable. He's a joke candidate. No one will vote for him in a primary compared to others.
And in the end, living in Illinois, you don't have to worry about voting 3rd party or leaving the space blank on your ballot if some magic way put him against Trump. One of the positives of the mostly negative electoral college.
