When my kids were little, they asked about the first romantic scenes they saw involving gay couples, because they were so rarely portrayed in media then. I basically said, well women can love women & men can love men, just like women & men can love each other. They said "ok" & were totally fine.

The “what do I tell my kids” thing is such bs. Your explanation plus adoption, IVF, surrogates - science and society is amazing, kids. A bunch of these same parents tell their kids Jesus was crucified, died, and woke up a couple of days later. Adoption is way easier for kids to understand.
