Vice Presidents only get 6 months of Secret Service protection after leaving office. That’s standard. Trump is making it look like he did it as a power move.

Biden extended it to a year so Trump did intervene to shorten it from that. Longer than the normal 6 months though. Could easily argue that Harris is at higher risk than the average VP at this point post-office, and the president publicly removing her secret service could increase that thread

Thanks for the info. I don’t remember Biden extending it (though looking back it makes a lot of sense). I also agree she’s at higher risk. It’s ridiculous she now has no SS protection.

Yeah he didn’t make it public at the time, I think that’s only reported noe. Supposedly some sort of threat assessment didn’t uncover any major issues for her, but take that with a grain of salt from the current administration.

Could be a reasonable argument that USSS shouldn’t take the burden to cover her book tour, but can’t give much benefit of the doubt when he’s pulled protection for other political enemies like Bolton while he’s been actively facing threats
