Before we get to retribution and revenge, the threat has to be defeated. In a Fascist state willing to use violence on whim, a lot of Americans that believe that "violence is never the answer" have to put that thought to bed. Fascism has never been defeated by elections alone.
But the answer to your question is "we will do violence, especially against you if you don't flee right now". They can work legal systems and what's left of institutions to maintain their power if we let them. But real threats of violence is the language they truly understand.
