Imagine quoting MLK and then ignoring the rest of the civil rights movement. What you’re going to quote Ghandi next and argue Indian liberation was 100% peaceful?

Are you saying the civil rights movement uses violence to gain equal rights? So you think Kaepernick kneeling in prayer was violent?

I’m saying your glossing over the civil rights era and only focusing on King is misinformed at best

It’s not my job to educate you. Start with Malcom X, read some Franz Fanon and go from there.

No. It didn’t have to use violence. The threat of it sufficed. What did Kaepernick accomplish?

“[Kaepernick] has continued to challenge systemic oppression through his books, documentaries and his charity, KYRC.”

It really didn’t accomplish much aside from wrecking his career and making MAGATS look like giant snowflakes

How did the civil rights movement threaten violence?

Malcom X and the Black Panthers aside, when a large number of (mostly northern) whites threw their lot in with black Americans, the opponents of civil rights figured out that they were playing with fire and would get their asses kicked. Again.

The north winning the civil war did not result in equal rights for black americans. The fall out from the civil war was continued lynchings, segregation and enslavement through incarceration under a new government regime of racist yt men.
