Means nothing to me.
Fine.
I have wished I could move there since the orange 💩's first term.
I wanted to go the 1st time the vile right stole the election. We couldn't afford it & my husband refused to give up his guns. On the bright side, I get to hear you were right, honey!
Yea we're aware, tell it to the anal pore in the Oval Office
Not quite true. Some Del Monte products are still made in Canada. Juices for one.
I just got home last night from a wonderful 8 days in Toronto. Most of the stores we visited had signs for Canada items only. It was my pleasure to shop those stores. Michigander supporting you 100%.
Same!
I haven't seen any stores exclusive to Canada in my area. I fully support the Canada-only concept. I use this app to confirm that it's Canadian, and it works great.
I just downloaded this app .. tks
Tks
👍👍👍👍👍🇨🇦
Excess inventory was the main problem named in the article...and yet we still have hungry people in the U.S. See the disconnect? Greed is the problem!
Trump's tariffs are raising the costs too high for hungry people in the US to afford their products, I guess. With the FDA and USDA being gutted, I'd trust canned food before I'd trust fresh food in the US right now.
I don’t blame you.. I worked in grocery in CO and honestly all canned fruit is not a big seller.. the little lunch cups and applesauce still is.. most buy fresh fruit and produce.. actually we sold more dried fruit
Good for you! I don't know why del monte has been in business still. They are so proud of their product that I leave it on the shelf for them to display. Too expensive. Anyone ever been in a canning plant? I have some stories for you.
Elbows up Canada 🇨🇦 Buy made in Canada !
Wow. That’s real news. FAFO.
In 🇦🇺 USA food, drinks, meat, dairy are banned as unfit for human consumption, it's poisonous, causes cancers, hormonal & brain issues etc. USA 110 volt white goods, electronics, NTSC region 1, right-hand drive vehicles etc don't work. American Sized ugly fashion clothes, don't sell here either.😏
I needed onions for a recipe. Every onion and shallot in thew store was a US product. I made something else.
Maybe you could find dried onion? I'm sorry it's come to this. 💪🍁 ❤️
maybe a local grower? it’s the season.
Remember often you can substitute frozen or minced onions.
Good. As the song says, more, more, more.
Probably the real problem for Del Monte is that there are no more immigrant laborers, picking the fruits and vegetables for less than minimum wages.
Canned fruit is 🤮. Just my opinion though
The U.S. citizens who r not bigots and love all of their neighbors in n out of the country, thank you and understand.
Another trumpian immoral bankruptcy. They'll SCREW their suppliers, then regroup and be back again.
For me it means "boycotts work."
Thank you! We are boycott ing amazon, target and others. What Canadian goods should we buy instead of American made?
There's a couple apps on Apple and Android you could check out.
All those upside down cans in Canada could not have helped them..,
Dear Canada, Please adopt California. Or even the whole left coast. Look at the Naval Superiority you would have.
We still love our northern bros.
Canada all the way ..
A lot of us Americans aren't either because we can't afford them.
Lol I thought the same when I read it! Buying a lot more products from the UK & Italy. Those Italian sauces are to die for! 😁
I would happily buy Canadian ID you had produce. They don't have any lettuce or carrots in the store , I tried 3 different ones. The Felonious Fruit cake in office screwed up everything. #usaindistress #wearenotok
Americans don't want to consume anything from America. It's tainted
👏👏👏👏
Well, it's only the American subsidiary that is going bankrupt. Dell Monte Canada is part of the France-based Bonduelle Group, not part of the American subsidiary anymore. It might not have much of an effect on global operations unless the Singapore parent company is also in financial trouble.
Thanks for this info.
Del Monte 'can' get the f out of Canada. 😆
Good. Don’t. The US is a chaotic disaster-keep yourself and your country safe
You have this American's full support Canada.
And Americans don't need their shitty big sugar "fruit" cocktails.
There is some nuance here. "Changing tastes" are a large part of what brought this one down. The people who currently eat fruit want real fruit, and the people who just want to eat sugar have a million ways to get it. The market for "canned fruit cocktail" is just gone.
Agree. When was the last time anyone saw that god awful fruit salad from the aunties / g-maws?
Canada gets it. Everything changes when the power of boycott is understood.
I wouldn't think of eating any juices from a can.
Please keep up the good work!
I buy Wegmans organic canned fruit.
Well put. Bravo! 👏🏼
Not to mention that Del Monte has a pretty horrifying history. This is only one of their recent issues. www.humanrightsresearch.org/post/an-eval...
The tariffs imposed on steel didn't help either. Their production costs have gone up.
There products are all jammed with sugar. They don't produce quality.
Wonder how many deplorable MAGAts used Made in China fireworks yesterday?
All of them.
Unironically, fireworks are one of the products that I think massive tariffs make sense for. They're a luxury good based on pure consumption. We should make fireworks domestically and it would be great for the environment if we used less in the process.
Means nothing for my family. We do not buy that brand at all. Either I get it from a Canadian company or another company overseas or I do without
Had planned to go to New Mexico this year. Fuck that shit! Travelled from Ontario to St John’s Newfoundland instead and have had the most amazing vacation ever. Sorry, but I will never step foot in the states or by American again.
👍
We went there for the first time in May. It was the only province both my Wife and I had never been to so we put it at the top of our list. We’re only spending our vacation dollars in Canada this year.
That’s on my list for next year. It looks beautiful and a much better choice!
And the people are as beautiful as the scenery. You’ll not regret it!
🥰
Did PEI, NS, and NB 2 years ago. Great.
💯
