Low IQ fascism is the most effective form. Make the lie big, and make it simple enough for everyone to be able to understand. Slavish adherence to truth, evidence, decency and honesty has been honest parties' undoing.

2/ “to large-scale falsehoods." (Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler). There’s a superficial plausibility in the argument. But the success of political lying is not due to the "primitive simplicity" of citizens; it's a result of the conscious embrace of liars by a politically disaffected minority.

3/ The liar is judged by them to be a loveable rogue, willing to say what average people won't, to attract followers and power. Then, upon gaining authority, the fascist leader enacts policies that seem to validate the lies,
