My mother-in-law now spends all day listening to AI generated slop that sounds like legitimate documentaries or news stories. The latest is one about how Voyager received a signal from aliens and changed course. We've begged her to just watch the BBC or something but she won't.

Is there something specifically that interests her? CBC has some really incredible podcasts and I wonder if that might help
I don't know what it is, but I think something about the YouTube algo has captured her. She's doesn't have the motive to search out podcasts any more somehow.
What about audio books? Would she listen to sci-fi/fantasy? You can rent a lot of them free with a library card
