Pretty sure I saw a lot of closed restaurants, curtailed flights, and small businesses going under. Maybe they just weren't willing to serve food for the right cause

I'm so lost in this nonsense. Is your only point that the spontaneous Floyd Protests got "a pass"? If that's it, I am happy to be a hypocrite. My support for human rights was greater than public health guidelines.
The issue here is that Tom doesn’t consider state violence against its citizens to be a public health issue and therefore medical professionals should not comment on it.
Huh. I was in Ireland during the protests because I was allowed to fly there. I guess I must have been imagining it. What a bunch of hypocrites they were to let me fly when people couldn’t sing Amazing Grace outdoors.
I'm a former chef, COVID decimated restaurant businesses. I know people who poured their heart, soul, sweat, and tears lose everything. Without exaggeration, they lost their livelihoods during COVID. On the flipside some of my other friends took advantage of open leases and opened restaurants.
Maybe instead of hours debating policies of the 1st year of a massive deadly never-experienced pandemic, we should be talking strategies about closed/struggling restaurants, curtailed flights, and small businesses going under due to this insane admin. Oh - and school shootings.
Why have this argument? This was a novel and lethal virus. Mis steps were unavoidable. Expecting perfection seems nutty to me. But so does discounting the value of public health.
Tongue Dud Window should learn about the people he replies to on public social media...you know, before replying and making an ass out of himself.
Restaurants and airlines are regulated entities, with licenses, ownership, and assets. How are you going to prohibit a spontaneous street protest?
regulated by whom? Functioning gov'ts or corporate overlords who buy & dismantle at will?
A reasonable question, but not the point
Demand fell through the floor because people didn’t want to fly. The drops weren’t all because of government mandates. A lot of people made decisions when they saw images of body bags stacking up
I think sometimes you focus on the worst 10% of the left and imply that that they represent the majority.
