I just posted like a dozen articles about the failures of Biden and the Dems and I could easily post a dozen more, or you could find it yourself with a simple ten second search. I'm not saying the GOP hasn't been worse - that's the point of the original post

If these failures of the past Democratic administration are so evident and so glaring, why don't you summarize them in 160 characters or so? I am especially interested in what Biden admin did that was as bad as politicizing masking, or promoting HCQ/Didier Raoult. Or talking about bleach enemas.

I’ll volunteer. He ceded to political strategists on dropping masking mandates and lowering the isolation period over Health experts. He complained about masking, and declared the pandemic over in 2022. He oversaw the CDC switching maps clearly intended to create a false calm.

Please see my post above for the definition of the threshold. None of the things you listed (which are indeed controversial) are in the same category as promotion of Didier Raoult/HCQ, ivermectin, or the bleach monologue. And no other country did much better.

You seem to keep thinking the argument is "Biden did exactly as bad as Trump", which is not an argument anyone is making; the argument is that Biden did poorly, and for very specific reasons.

This is the argument you made at the top of the thread. Also, what should he have done differently? Enforced the masking when 35% of the population was told by their tribe leaders not to mask? Go against SCOTUS on vaccination mandates?

I don't know what "much better" means, but countries with socialized medicine tended to do significantly better in controlling COVID and preventing fatalities than ones without it, and socialist and communist countries did better than capitalist ones as well.

I am no fan of the US healthcare system. But in this case, I disagree - because the difference in outcomes was not completely related to who pays. Case in point is Sweden, that has an amazing public system. They also completely mismanaged COVID.

Nicaragua, Angola, China, Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, and Laos, Nepal, and Eritrea were all in the lower rungs of numbers of COVID deaths per million, while France, Italy, Russia, the US, and the UK were in the top 40

Believe me, you would not want to live in most any country from your top 9. Also, you cannot trust any numbers from NK or China (lol?). Of the "free world" countries, Australia was one of the most restrictive, and arguably had one of the better outcomes. But it also has only 10% of US population.

He prioritized a “return to normal” that was unsupported by mitigations like clean air, mask requirements, and protections for disabled workers. He continued to require testing around his administration while telling the public it was over. His CDC refused for *ages* to confirm airborne spread.

But you can say "don't both-sides" this all day long and that just tells me you don't understand how both sides fucked up. And that happened because they are both beholden to capital over the people. Contrast either Trump or Biden with many other countries and it's easy to see

I honestly don't see what y'all get from this. It is perfectly sensible to say that despite Trump being much worse on this issue, the Democrats have been bad. Biden gave meager lip service to the idea that the vaccines (research paid for by our taxes) should be public domain, but did nothing more to make it happen. He declared COVID "over" and then got it himself almost immediately. He let state & local govts. spend mitigation money on cops. Etc., etc.

It is the same mindset that made people stay home (or vote for Trump) because of Biden administration's alleged support for Netanyahu. Normally I just scroll through posts like this, but shitposting of this kind about US science at this particular time in history is offensive.
