But also, wrong Because Quest for Fire, Sun and Steel, and To Tame a Land are shit Big Orra, Flash of the Blade, The Duellist are shit Alexander the Great is spectacular utter dog shit Maiden put shit songs on every album, but the highs don't get much higher.

Have to disagree with your article. Invaders has terrible lyrics but a fantastic guitar riff. Gangland is god awful and in an alternative universe Total Eclipse would have replaced it. Every other song is a stone cold Maiden classic.

Reading this this has made me think: was Clive too fast and groovy for Bruce? He was perfect for Di’Anno but maybe didn’t quite suit the big notes that need a little more space. Enter Nicko for the lovely Piece Of Mind.
