Am I the only one thinking 1 million a day (the cost of NG in DC) could have funded police (trained for the task) and funded mental healthcare to lower the crime rates in any city?

This ignores the fact crime wasn’t even high to begin with. This farce of a “solution” is a PR stunt in search of a nonexistent problem. The 1 million a day should’ve gone to improving education, infrastructure, housing, and healthcare, the four pillars of a healthy and happy society.
