Slavery wasn’t just bad. It was worse. Far worse than you think. Worse than you were taught. Worse than museums dare to show. Worse.
Slavery wasn’t just bad. It was worse. Far worse than you think. Worse than you were taught. Worse than museums dare to show. Worse.
Yet we still venerate them by carving their faces onto the granite face of stolen, sacred Lakota land. One of whom was a pedophile who raped his slave girls.
Torture, murder, rape… It was worse…
trump and trump supporters are monsters
I don't think we can even fathom the evil.
Rapes, Murders, Tortures, pedophilia... they tend not to talk about..
Worse than you can imagine. Worse than inserting glass tubes up your penis hole and smashing it with a hammer. Waaaaay worse.
People cannot imagine, have no idea, have no clue because our true history is not taught. Books that tell the history of slavery are banned in several states because the fascists who find the truth about slavery too violent, the racism too blatant for tender ears.
True!
Nobody deserves to be enslaved. Everyone is born free and must stay that way. Bet Trump’s got other plans though.
To me everyone is equal, no race or gender is better, its working together yo eliminate this, will destroy most racism, genderism, leaving humans that get along. Internal conflicts relates to external conflicts. Be kind to one and another
The person who’s sending others into slavery are actually doomed themselves into the Hell they provide to others! Funny how Karma works.
Abstaining from punishing wrongdoers now in favor of a "they'll be punished when they are dead" is a abdication of moral responsibility.
I have been to plantations owned by America's "Founding Fathers." No matter how they dolled these places up to make them look nice, you could feel it in your soul these were places of immense suffering. The Founding Fathers ran their own personal concentration camps.
Only some of them. The North had no slave plantations.
We got slavery today. It’s called trafficking.
Yes
Yes! My god watch/read 12yrs a slave. An actual autobiography
“It’s gonna be pretty fucking grotesque, learning about American slavery. It’s gonna make you sick—it should make you sick. Modern horror genres pale in comparison. Torture porn ain’t got shit on American slavery.” lokiexcelsiorsmith.substack.com/p/black-hist...
Reading some history, people dreaded family separation. Children or spouses could be sold away any time.
Slavery was HORRIFIC!There is NO word in the English language that is strong enough to depict how AWFUL it was! Worse than anything I think we can imagine! To erase these events from our museums will not erase the FACTS that we had true monsters in our country then! There are monsters here NOW!
I love how a man who comes from a family of immigrants has the audacity to say Black history is too woke.
💯 evil disgusting violently worse
There is evidence that items were made from the skin and hair of slaves. Historical accounts and museum collections contain examples of items like match-safes, book covers, cigar cases, & instrument cases covered with human skin - in some instances specifying that the skin came from deceased slaves.
It is. It is a practice by which another human is regarded as not human. Slavery continues..in many other forms...it is a tremendous human fail
Slavers made fortunes then and today. How much do we think Epstein and Donald made from trafficking children? Minnesota's Anton Lazzaro had a closet of gold bars from his little child rape trafficking operation.
WORSE! Thank you for sharing this 🫶🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽
Now would be a good time to re-release ROOTS. That was the best miniseries, and a real eye-opener.
Exactly!!!
Yes, the younger generations should see it! I know when I was young it left an impression on my soul. 💔
I think that needs to happen, I believe the truth of how horrific racism is needs a replay right now. Can you imagine any human so evil they wanted a human slave?
Exactly!!!
No, I definitely can't. I really think Roots and The Thorn Birds were the best series ever.
I was very small when I saw Roots, a small child and it was disturbing but I could understand that slavery is morally reprehensible, and racism is just wrong and stupid. It made an impact. Thorn birds I don't remember.
It was a best selling novel. Richard Chamberlain starred in it. Very tragic. They were the highlight of the 70's.
I will watch it sometime, thanks.
I agree. Only a man who currently has slaves would say otherwise. Trump has slaves in Dubai
Slavery is bad sure, but has anyone ever seen Donald Drumpf?!
Yes. Unquestionably, undoubtedly yes. Worse, even, than the first few chapters of Frederick Douglass’ autobiography which is incredibly gruesome.
Trump just proving the racist we’ve always known him to be is not a sheet wearer but a blue suited Klan member
This exactly—our history has already been white-washed: slavery was far worse than anything that made it into our history textbooks….
Over 90% (possibly 99%) of African American people in America have European DNA in them. That's not from consensual sex.🤷♂️
It amazes me how many Black and Brown folk I've seen in ICE uniforms selling others into slavery.
The British-North American chattel slave trade is the worst crime against humanity in the history of humanity
I agree but with a small caveat. It should say Is not was. It's still very much with us, if humans can get away with enslaving others they will do.
If slavery wasn’t that bad I propose reverse genocide, build some ships, exact replicas like those my ancestors were chained in. Round up every Caucasian for a transatlantic Journey to Africa, keep them for 246 years in the same heinous colonial conditions let you have a go and then call it even 😒🤷🏾♀️.
Yes it was. Now we live with the vestiges of slavery in the form of poverty, disease, and brutality.
I remember reading James Pope got a 4060 year prison sentence for holding 3 girls captive & abusing them for 2 years, & I thought imagine the total prison sentences that slave holders deserve for imprisoning & abusing 10 million people for ~70 years each. It can't just be swept aside and forgotten.
politicalamericans.com/ice-revives-...
How'd that work out the last time?
bsky.app/profile/your...
You’re kidding, those out of shape people that have been rejected from everything else and can’t read the word fascism
That's supposed to be satire according to their banner, but if anything I'd say it's more like hyperbole...
The MAGA base is revisionist. They really want to say Make America White Again and they're so close to doing so.
When not even all physically white people agree anyhow, so that's hardly the compliment it's cracked up to be.
bsky.app/profile/1ann...
Maybe just maybe the people who don't think it was so bad need to face a day of abuse, physical and sexual both to them and to their family and see how they would come out with the same attitude.
And what followed was bad too
I don't think they care. That is the whole problem, they do not care.
I would say from my studies in history that they were way beyond worse than the Smithsonian would be able to display.
Trump should be forced to watch Roots, all available episodes of both on a 24/7 loop.
I don't doubt that at all. It's so fking difficult to try to understand why people actually fought to keep it from being abolished. And I fancy myself as having a pretty good imagination.
Conservatives are built to control and torture just the way they're wired
1000%. Read people! Be curious! Of course it was.
Yes it was
Absolutely. It’s horrifying how much of the reality of slavery is still hidden or sugarcoated. People need to face the full truth.
There’s a scene in the mini-series North and South where the abolitionist character Virgilia Hazard gives a speech about the South’s “true crop.” I used to show that to my history classes and we’d talk about the implications. If I did that now, under this regime, I’d be fired for sure.
Denial is the number one mental health issue. And it is huge. Generational denial produces profound ignorance from which few escape. When the willingness exists to thoroughly understand the trauma of slavery, one must by force be overwhelmed emotionally. Action afterwards determines whether it took.
A beautiful, strong sister was telling me today about the worse and how a lot just never really went away. Civil rights on top of the Constitution by a majority claiming charity as a virtue by way of their chosen religion should not have been necessary. Yet, that necessity remains.
At least one silly troll that I have blocked and reported has strawmanned this. The point is that it's been whitewashed.
Having been born into the segregated south, I can also say that so was Jim Crow.
The strength of the people who were enslaved to continue moving forward is awe inspiring
It was evil; all of it! But the part that really gets me is that these slave owners would rape & impregnate their slaves & allow their own children to be slaves too. Their OWN children!
And have those children serve the children he had with his wife. Beyond vile.
Check out the book "Without Sanctuary". See the movie Rosewood. I know. Sadly I come from a long line of slaveowners. I would love to find some of the descendants of those people, if only to ask for their forgiveness.
Absolutely 💔😭
What I learned I had to work out on my own. Google is a free resource.
Slavery and all the stories told and untold are horrific by its nature of what it entails… Using people against their will for your own means! Taking people’s lives, property, children or possessions is the antithesis of evil. All parts of it!
Much much more.
Absolutely, without any doubt whatsoever. It allowed the most debauched people to express their unbridled heinous thoughts and actions freely.
I honestly cannot believe this is where the US is. It is disgusting.
You people have to get rid of that abomination as soon as possible! The man is a dangerous idiot, ruining any respect the USA had left outside of the USA! You look stupid and ridiculous from here! The most powerful country on this earth going fascist? Idiots!
Yes you are so right ✅️
I agree. Nobody teaches the awful truth of the brutality the cruelty that lasted for centuries.
Exactly!!!
Yes. Let's be real, what we see written in history books is the sanitized versions, acceptable the white monied leaders of the time so as to not soil their virtuous opinions of themselves.
Worse than most could imagine, those not currently in ice concentration camps or previously on Epstein island.
Uhmn,…truth be told, it is truly disgusting that this needs to be said, written or seriously discussed. It speaks to who, what and where we are. In deep, abiding, self-imposed, self-serving ignorance. Fascism loves that shit. That’s all. MAGA Making America Grotesque(as shit) Again! 👊🇺🇸💩
Yep.
And it hasn't ended. Currently, 50 million people are trapped in slavery. www.voices4freedom.org/what-is-mode...
I believe this.
Yes, we are path to confront the worse of our past, and Trump calls it WOKE. We need to know so we do not repeat Ever, and be a people who loves all people. My vision-not happening with Trump in power.
We’re still suffering the effects.
Conservatives really feel like they missed out on the good times
Yes. Worse.
Trump doesn’t know or understand the history of this country. So he’s extremely ignorant. Also, he is a well-known racist who would have taken the side of the slave masters. He has no capacity for empathy and thinks he has the right to say that slavery wasn’t that bad. He’s a scum bag.
CIVIL WAR in the works maybe? What else is going to shut down this ghoul lag Neo Nazi regime... no more time to give to the death of our democracy.
What is wrong with Trump that he would try to portray slavery as anything other than the most shameful, horrific, depraved choice of greedy, heartless people?
Capitalism. The ultimate goal of capitalism is slavery for the workers. Employees eat into profits and capitalism is all about profits.
It is! They need desperate class of workers subservient to their oligarch “masters”. This is what they envision for us all.
Slavery is another form of Genocide.
It’s slavery. You don’t need to pick up a book to know how horrific it was – it’s in the bloody name.
And... HEGSETH LOST CAUSE is a warning SIGNAL as he RETURNS Confederate statue to Arlington National Cemetery depicting ENSLAVED woman as “Mammy,” holding CHILD of a WHITE OFFICER, and an ENSLAVED BLACK MAN following HIS OWNER to war. $10M investment in pre-civil war share.google/BtYtESYeSORo...
Melt the fuckers down.
And the GOP MAGA are attempting to white wash it.
Worse than the worst prison, I'm sure. Look how white people treat brown now. It would have been horrible to be in slaved by ignorant white Christians.
TFG needs some marks on his back. QED
