Kenai is built next to Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. There are a lot of bears there. Unfortunately they are now coming into towns searching for food. My friend who lived there had bears coming near her house all the time. She literally carried a gun when she went to walk her dogs.

Karelian bear dogs - at least 2. Great Pyrenees. Ovcharkas. If I lived in bear country, I'd be keeping those big dogs in small packs. Wildlife is wonderful. Also - dangerous. Glad she's gonna make it.
